My journey in Latvia

I land in Riga on July 14th and I stay a few days. Then I go up the Baltic coast in the direction of Jurmala, Plieņciems and stopping in the country side city Talsi.

Head for Cape Kolka and its deserted beaches, then I go down gradually to Ventspils, Kuldiga and Liepaja. The region is called Courland (Kurzeme in Latvian) and was the home of the Hanseatic knights in the twelfth century. Liepaja is also the city of Amber in Latvia.

The next part of the trip takes me to the Latgale region or blue lakes region. I cross the country from west to east stopping at the royal palace Rundale and Jelgava before arriving in Rezekne. Famous region for its natural areas, time is divided between visits and participation in an exchange about dance with young Europeans.

The end of the journey approaching, before returning to France, I allow myself two jumps to Sigulda and Cesis to see some architectural wonders.

I leave on August 11th.
